Today we said goodbye to the Class of 2017. They have spent the last 8 years in St Marks. We have seen them grow and become the responsible men they are today. We wish them all the best for secondary school and hope to see them again in the coming years.
Jimmy and this percussion band played and he presented his departing band members Adam, Aaron and Paul with a pair of drum sticks each. Jimmy said some very kind words about each of them.
Mags then spoke to the boys about the difference they have made in the school and some words of advice for the future. She also gave some advice to the parents entering into those teenage years!! Mags finished with wishing then ask the best and saying how much we will miss them all.
Finally, the main event. Mr Kelleher and Mrs McCarthy got to finally say what they really thought of each child. Mrs McCarthy gave a speech on each of the boys while Mr Kelleher took photos. They focused on their personalities, character, achievements and talents. There were tears, laughs and moments of pride as the boys reach stood up and listened to every word. They all received a graduation certificate.
Last but not least they sang their graduation song "hey brother" and the school song for one last time.
Special thanks to Mrs Darcy who created the wonderful display by the school door. The boys loved it.
So to Paul, Brandon, John, Adam, Aaron, Jerome, Eamonn, Luke, Bobby, Daniel, Kuba, Kyle, Diarmuid, Isaiah, and Robert all the best for the future. We will miss you all and we know you will make us proud.
